I dashed into Robinson’s Department Store and found the sign that said “Menswear”.

“Excuse me,” I said to one of the salesmen, “have you seen yesterday’s Santa?”

He twirled his tape measure around his fingers. “Yesterday’s Santa?” he laughed. Is this some kind of a joke?”

Just then Mr. Greenbaum showed up, balancing a bunch of white boxes.

“Mr. Greenbaum!” I said.

“Well! If it isn’t Jake’s little girl!” He dropped the boxes onto the counter and bent over. “You’re here alone?”

“I don’t have much time,” I said. “I looked for you in the Winter Castle. How come you’re not Santa any more?”
